Hey, it’s Rose and welcome to another episode of the Sensitive CEO Show, and this episode is the final episode for 2022. I’m taking a bit of a break, and I will be back with you on the 16th of January, 2023. So this episode is, a solo episode where I want to share with you some behind-the-scenes things for me and my business for 2022, and I guess to do a bit of a wrap-up and to share with you things that has really gone well, things that haven’t gone so well, and things that I’ve learned in the last 12 months or so.
So the things that have gone well. I successfully hosted my third summit in May this year, which was my second HSP entrepreneur summit. And it was amazing. It was such a wonderful event, and the feedback I got from the speakers, the many participants, and the guests at the summit was just wonderful.
I had lovely feedback, and I really enjoyed my time connecting with the speakers, meeting new speakers, reconnecting with some older friends whom I’d met through the HSP community and that, again, helped to grow my business as well. Getting the awareness of the highly sensitive trait out to a broader group of people is always my main aim for these summits, but a lovely ripple effect from doing the summits is that I do I grow my audience and other speakers do as well. So that was a wonderful experience this year.
The other thing I loved about this year was launching this podcast, which has been on my mind for quite a while.
I’ve been listening to podcasts for many, many years, and it’s always been something in the back of my mind. I thought, oh, I wonder if I could ever do this. And when I started doing the online summits, I realised how much I love interviewing people and connecting with people. This seemed to be the next step for me after the summit.
I’m not saying I’m not doing another summit. This is a really lovely thing to do to keep the connections up with fellow HSP entrepreneurs, and it’s been, yeah, I’m up to episode 20, and I have some wonderful guests in store for you next year in upcoming episodes. I’ve been doing lots of interviews recently, so I have quite a few all ready for next year, and I’ve got quite a few new interviews lined up as well.
So I’m excited to bring more of that to you next year. And I’ve received lovely feedback. So thank you to everybody who’s shared the feedback. And I know that it’s helping a lot of you to gain greater awareness that ee all share this remarkable trait of sensitivity.
The guests I like to bring on are people, who have created successful businesses of their own and are obviously very happy to share their tips and everything with you, the audience. So this has been wonderful. Something that I need to improve on with the podcast is doing these solo episodes. I do prefer interviewing people. I’m still getting into my comfort zone of recording these solo episodes, so that is something I’ll be working on in 2023.
The next thing that I’m proud of this year is that I launched my first group program for the HSP Business School. And again, this is something I’ve wanted to do for a while. A group program and everything just fell under place this year, and I’ve got a beautiful group going through this program now.
And it, yeah, it’s truly wonderful. I enjoy sharing all of the knowledge I’ve got in the area business, but the mindset tools that I share, the energy healing that I’m also doing in the group. So it’s a bit of a hybrid of all my skills, experience, and knowledge.
Additionally, I completed the online business consultant certification, which I’d been studying for six months, and I completed this year.
So a lot of the frameworks and strategies that I learned in this certification I’m bringing into the HSP Business School, and it’s been a wonderful blend. I’m already getting lovely feedback from the group members in the group. It’s not open for enrollment at the moment, but it will be opening back upin early 2023.
I’m going to be enrolling for the next group, so if you are interested and you want to know a bit more about it, I’ll pop a link in the show notes, and you can join a waitlist, and you’ll be the first to know when the enrollments are opening up. And I’ll also be offering a little bonus to everybody on the waitlist too.
So if that’s of interest, please head over there.
Now the next thing that I love about this year is that I hired a coach, and I’ve worked with many coaches over the years, and the difference with my new coach is that she is also highly sensitive. She is a very successful business owner, an introvert, and an empath too.
So we’re very aligned, and I got to know her about a year ago or over a year ago now, and we met a few times on Zoom. And we’d been connecting before I hired her, so I really wanted to get to know her. And she has helped me so much in my business. She helped me fill the launch of the HSP Business School, and she’s helping with the accountability and, so many things that I know I can’t do alone, and having the support of a one-on-one coach has been wonderful.
Now, the next thing I’ve done this year is I’ve hired a team member and a big shout out to Phil, who is my podcast editor. And I know that you’ll be listening, Phil. So thank you for all the wonderful work you do behind the scenes.
And again, this was quite a decision to invest in myself and my business to hire and outsource work. I can actually do video and audio editing, but it’s not my zone of genius. And to be honest, it was taking me a long, long time. So hiring Phil has been such a wonderful thing that I’ve done this year.
Now the next thing I’ve done, I enrolled in a high-value mentoring and coaching program for around mid a year. And this has deepened and widened my knowledge around scaling a business. And I’m always learning; I’m always curious to know more, which I know is an HSP trait. And when I do, when I learn these new things, when I have them, get these new skills under my belt, it’s really for my understanding and my knowledge, it’s also to share with my clients, the one-on-one clients, and also the clients in the business school. So, this has been another wonderful investment that I’ve made.
I also did a course; it was an energetics course specifically for highly sensitive people. And again, this has helped me with my energy and my nervous system, but it’s also things I can share with my clients.
I’ve got a few more to share, some of the other things. I’ve been a guest at three summits this year, and the first one was with Elena Herdieckerhoff, the Sensitive Success Summit. And this was wonderful. It was a really intimate summit. There were just five speakers, and Elena is beautiful, and it was a lovely summit to be part of.
Then I was a guest speaker at the Empaths, Sensitives and Intuitives Summit, which is hosted by the Shift Network. And I felt honoured to be invited to be to this summit because when I did my first HSP summit last year, yes, it was last year, 2021, I had looked at a lot of the speakers that were on this particular summit, and I got my inspiration from them. So when I was invited to this summit, I was honoured and chuffed this year. So that was lovely.
And then, finally, as I’m recording this, it hasn’t quite aired yet, but as you listen, it will have aired in another Sensitive Success Summit, and Frida Kabo has hosted this one. And again, it’s been a wonderful summit to be part of.
So, it’s been lovely to be invited to be at other people’s summits because after hosting my summits, I know how much hard work goes into it behind the scenes. It’s a really big undertaking, hosting a meeting, it’s very rewarding.
But it’s been nice to be on the other side of it and be a guest. And in the same vein, I’ve also been a podcast guest on a few podcasts this year, and both of these have come about because I hosted my own summits. I’ve been meeting new people around the world, new HSPs, and widening my community of HSPs around the world.
So the more people get to know other people, and we’re on the same wavelength, it is when we start inviting each other to our various summits and podcasts.
So a few personal things that I’ve achieved this year. I’m sharing some personal ones as well. In July, I did a 30-kilometre walk along the beaches here on the Sunshine Coast of Australia, and I love walking.
I walk every day, but I’d never actually walked 30 kilometres in one day. And that was, it was fun. It was a really fun day, and an organisation put it on, who, it was a fundraiser, for Beyond Blue for mental health in Australia. So it was such a beautiful cause that we were walking for.
I was in a team. There were four of us on the team, and there were actually thousands of us walking along the beach. It was quite a. Quite a wonderful event. It was fun.
I have also set a goal this year to walk 2,500 kilometres, and I’m well on track to achieving that. I’m around 2,300 as of today, and I’m recording this at the end of November, so I will definitely achieve that. I know this time last year I had, so last year I had a goal of 2000 kilometres, and I misjudged my daily walk, and I think the last, I think December, all of December, I had to do 10 kilometres every day just to catch up. So this year, all I need to do, I worked it out the other day, is around four kilometres, which is pretty easy.
So that’s been a lovely personal goal to have as well. And I’ve got a few people doing that with me. I’m not doing it on my own. So yeah, that’s been fun.
The other thing I did recently I completed a Yin Toga teacher training, and this was an in-person event, which was beautiful. I’ve been practising yoga myself for well over 30 years now, and I love yoga. It’s a big part of my life, and I don’t want to teach. I did this training to deepen my knowledge of yoga and go into it a bit deeper. And it was also a self-care journey for me to take that time out, to take those days out of the office and do something for me, which is so important for anyone running their own business.
Now, it might sound like I’ve done a lot this year, and I want to, I guess I just want to say that I’ve done all of these things, but I’ve been managing my energy carefully. Not always. I have not always been that great at managing it. I’ve had a lot of personal stuff this year and had to take some time off.
I had to step back from the business and prioritise myself and my self-care, but I know that when you’re focused, you can achieve much more. And even being an HSP, achieving even more when you’re focused is possible. And one of the important things about that is to take that time out, which leads me to things I haven’t been that great at this year.
Which was not, not honouring my time, not honoring my boundaries, and saying yes to too many things, too many courses, and too many events. I signed up for another course this year, which I thought would be really good. It sounded wonderful, but not long into it, I realised that it just needed to be aligned.
I’m not saying I regret it because I think everything happens for a reason, but there are, and there are sometimes. I didn’t listen to my inner guidance and wasn’t honouring myself. So that’s one thing. Another thing that didn’t go so well. Part of the group coaching I was doing with another group.
The calls were in the evenings, and I thought I could do that. I thought I could have a little break and a little nap during the day, so I could work or do the coaching calls in the evenings. This didn’t go so well. I haven’t been, well, I wasn’t very good at stepping away from the computer during the day, so it’d still be there at nine, 10 p.m. to get on these calls, and I’d be totally wiped out the next day.
So I realised I needed to honour myself and not turn up live to the calls but do the recordings. I can easily do that. I can set time aside when I’m rested. When I’m fully rested, and that was a really big learning thing for me. I think I was trying to do it all, trying to squeeze everything in.
Another thing that could have gone better, I started some co-working sessions earlier in the year, which I wanted to provide as part of my Facebook community, my free Facebook group. If you don’t know that or are not in it, it’s called Standout and be Seen. And it’s a lovely community with HSPs and Introverts and Empaths, and there’s over 800 of us now, and it’s a beautiful community.
It’s promo friendly, so, everyone, well, not everyone, many people share their services, which is wonderful. We get to know what other people are doing around the world. And there’s some, yeah. Really beautiful community.
Anyway, I digress. The co-working sessions I thought would be a good idea didn’t pan out as I thought they would.
I did four or five of them, and it didn’t seem to be needed or wanted, or perhaps the timing wasn’t right. Anyway, I decided that I would put a pause on that. I don’t know if I’ll go back to them. But that was something that I tried, and it didn’t work. And obviously, that’s always going to happen in business.
There will be things that you try and only sometimes work. They might sound good. But yeah, not always. So that about wraps it up.
As I mentioned before, this is the last episode of 2022, and then the first episode of 2023 will be airing; I need to look, it’s the 16th of January.
So I would love for you to subscribe. If you have yet to subscribe to the podcast, I’ll pop a link in the show notes, so you’ll know when the episodes will air again in the new year. And I want to wish you a wonderful Christmas and New Year, and I hope you are also having a break. I’m excited to be taking some time off.
It’s been, it’s been a challenging year for me. Some of you may know that I lost my father recently, and yeah, I had to step back and reflect and reevaluate a few things in my business. So taking this month off is a real gift for me, and I hope to encourage you or give you some permission to take time off for yourself.
So thank you for listening to the podcast, and I look forward to sharing many more wonderful tips and wonderful guests in the New Year. Bye for now.
